Review: Litter Genie

**This post is sponsered by Crowdtap and Litter Genie. They sent me a Litter Genie to sample and review. All opinions are my own and are not swayed by any company.**

One day 12 years ago I was walking through PetsMart with a friend when I decided to adopt a beautiful cat from the Joplin Humane Society. A volunteer had told me that one certain cat had been at the humane society for a very long time and was going to have to be euthanized soon unless she was adopted. I felt extremely guilty and decided to take this cat home.

I named her Fallon.

She was a HANDFULL! She was very very ferral and did not like to be held.

Fast forward to now. She has finally calmed down. She does not let anyone but me hold her for long periods of time. She has slowly become use to the girls and will come around them. Well, maybe not the two year old. She is pretty timid of her since she likes to strangle her and drag her around the house.

Fallon has now accepted me as her caregiver. Taking care of any cat can be pretty simple. They are really good at taking care of themselves. What can they not do? Scoop their own poo. Oh man do I wish that they could!

I love a way that makes taking care of Fallon's buisness much easier. The Litter Genie does just that! The Litter Genie is a ravolutionary, hassle-free solution for controlling litter odors. Hallelujah!

(You can customize your Litter Genie with some vinyl. Find a tutorial on it here by using a Cricut.)

The Litter Genie set up is very similar to a Diaper Genie. To get started takes just four easy steps.

Step 1: Place the scoop and holder in to their slots. Pull the refills plastic tab and remove the outer rim.

Step 2: Pull about one foot of the plastic film out of the refill. Then push down the film through the center of the rim and tie a knot at the bottom.

Step 3: Open the lid and funnel and sit the refill on top of the unit. Pull the handle and push the film though the pail.

Step 4: Close the funnel-it's designed to fit snugly into the refill-and close the lid.

Since I only have one cat the one cartridge should last up to two months.

When using the Litter Genie you simply:

Step 1: Scoop clumps from litter box.

Step 2: Open lid, drop in clumps and close lid.

Step 3: Pull handle-clumps are sealed away for up to 14 days.

The Litter Genie is designed to be air-tight and keeps the smell in even when you open the lid!!

When you are ready to empty the bag simply:

Step 1: Open the unit in the middle.

Step 2: Use the built-in child-proof cutter to cut the bag, then tie it.

Step 3: Pull down plastic film to bottom of the unit, tie a knot and close the unit.

The Litter Genie is a great way to keep your home smelling fresh and keeping your cat happy!!
