Today's Cheap Living post focuses on companies who are looking for bloggers to review products.
I primarily go through five different companies in which they send me different items to reivew.
1. Influenster
This company is hard for some people to get in with. I was very fortunate in getting in two weeks after signing up. Influenster is a company who looks for people who have a lot of influence (get the name now). They check to see how many followers you have on facebook, instagram, twitter, you tube and various other social channels.
They choose certain members and send out Vox Boxes. These Vox Boxes contain different items.
Here is a post detailing my first Vox Box sponsered by Sargento Cheese.
Here is another post detailing my latest Vox Box, the TLC Vox Box.
You have to do several tasks after receiving your box so please don't think you just get items for free, you have to work for them! Don't get scared off though. These tasks are very simple, just a few can be time consuming. You typically have to leave facebook posts, blog about your box, follow the companies on twitter, actions like that.
2. House Party
I love hosting House Parties. Different companies team up with House Party and send out party kits to those who qualify to host a party.
My first party was with Huggies. I received a Target gift card, Huggies to try, blow up guitars, coupons, and potty training kits.
Here is a post on a party I threw sponsered by Sister Schubert Rolls (yummy by the way!).
You don't have to do too much for these parties. Make sure to take lots of pictures of your party though. They LOVE pictures!!
And make sure to check their website often. They are constanly adding parties to sign up for.
3. Chatterbox
Chatterbox is a company that is a sister to House Party. The difference in these two companies is small. After you apply to host a Chatterbox party they ask you to do a few tasks (like on facebook, post a photo, simple tasks) to show how much you want to host a party with them.
I recently held my first Chatterbox party sponsered by Tai Pei which you can read here.
Again, not much to do after these parties. Lots of pictures again!
4. Pinch Me
This one is great if you don't want to have too many tasks to complete and just want free stuff. Every two or so weeks Pinch Me offers free samples to whoever wants them. The trick is to act fast. These samples run out FAST! The first time I requested samples I only received three. The second time was only one. The third time I had to refresh the page constantly for 10 minutes until I was able to request five samples (I love free stuff that much).
You simply go to their website, make a profile and then choose whatever samples are available. I have recieved free full size bottles of nail polish, K-cup, Beyonce perfume (sample size), Advil PM (sample size) and a few others.
The only task you have to do is to go in after you receive your samples and give a review, which is multiple choice. After a week or two of having your sample you go in again and tell them if you would ever purchase the item after trying it. Simple!
5. Crowdtap
I have my friend Bree (you should check out her blog here) to thank for introducing me to this one. Crowdtap is a resource for many many many companies to get opinions from their subscribers. Crowdtap has items calld Quick Hits where you just simply answer multiple choice questions. They also have Challenges and Missions which require a bit more work.
Sometimes you are chosen to host Samples and Shares. These are wonderful and you are able to receive free product. All you have to do afterwards is fill out a questionaire. You are not required to write a blog post about it but it does help you receive more points.
Here is a Sample and Share I had for Viva Towels.
Here is another Sample and Share from Herbal Essence. I am currently reviewing two other products through them with another on the way (those posts will be up on the blog next week).
Points, lets talk about those. You receive points for every Quick Hit, Challenge and Mission and Sample and Share you complete. For every 100 points you are entered to win gift cards. I have been with them one year (although only seriously active for the past two months) and have won 13 Amazon gift cards. Pretty great right?
There you have it!! Now go sign up and get some free product!!
