Google and Boulevard make for a great weekend!

This weekend was a pretty busy but fun one!
Lets start with Friday.
The husband has had a Groupon for a Thai restaurant for quite awhile.  We decided to go ahead and take advantage of it and have a little away time from the kiddos.  If you are in the Kansas City area I highly recommend The Thai Place in Westport on Pennsylvania.  It was wonderful!  I had their signature dish, Pad Thai, and can see why they are known for it.  It was, by far, the best Pad Thai I have ever had.

After Thai, we moseyed on over to a park just a few blocks away from our house for a little picnic put on by Google.

**In case you didn't know, Kansas City is the first city in the world to have Google Fiber internet.  Google Fiber is the world's fastest internet.**

When Google puts on a party they do it right!  We had Goodcent sandwiches, soft cookies, chips and water.  Yum!

Google also hired a face painter.  When I hear face painter I think of someone painting little butterflies or the Google rabbit on peoples cheeks.  Was I ever wrong!  This lady has talent!!  I couldn't believe her amazing work!

If you live around KC and are looking for some hired entertainment for a kids or church or school party, give Creative Carnivals and Events a call! (I am not being compensated in any way for this endorsement.  This is how much I was truly impressed with her!)

How do you like our Batman and Princess?

Middle couldn't stop looking at herself in the mirror.

Littlest was wanting to get in on the fun but there was no way she would have sat still for it.

Now lets get to Saturday.
We are blessed here in KC with a wonderful local brewery, Boulevard.  I highly recommend that you search for some Boulevard beer near you and give it a try, if you haven't already.  If you don't like typical beer then give their Tank 7 a try.  I pretty much guarantee that you will like it.
Well, Boulevard had announced that they were having a garage sale at the brewery on Saturday morning at 10am.

We didn't think too many people would be there so we didn't leave the house until 9:45.  We were amazed by how many people were there.  We were even more amazed to hear that so many people were in line at 9:15 that they started letting people in.
Thankfully our girls found some other kids in line to play with.  They had a huge parking lot to run around in.

You may think...um what could be that great to have that many people out?  How about shirts for $5, tap handles for $5-10, large tin signs for $10, large banners for $5, neon signs for $50, etched glasses for $3, hoodies for $10 and the list goes on and on.  Not to mention FREE BEER!!  Yep, I had a glass of their IPA and a glass of their Wheat.  That made the 2 HOUR wait in line worth it!  They were also giving out free table pyramids (I'm hoping to come up with a craft for them soon) and free posters.
We came home with a tin sign (pictured), an awesome Bully Porter shirt for me, a Boulevard shirt for the husband, a large banner for inside the garage and some posters and table tents.  We also picked up two short tap handles, one large tap and a tin sign for a friend who couldn't be there.

That pretty much sums up our Saturday.  We may have only been there for 2.5 hours but it felt like all day with three kiddos in tow.  We went to the library afterwards and then everyone took some much needed naps.

I hope everyone's weekend was a great one!!!

**Sorry for my blogging absence lately.  Hard drive #2 gave out and was waiting on the replacement in the mail.  Now that the husband has installed it I can now get back to blogging.**
